San Francisco, CA – July 2008. AOpen announces its launch of the XC Mini MP45, the latest addition to the eco-friendly miniPC product family featuring the Intel® GM45+ICH9M (Montevina) chipset. The new MP45 supports the new Intel® Core™ 2 Duo (Penryn) processor at an external frequency up to 800/1066MHz, maximizing the performance of the Intel® Core™ 2 Duo. It also supports up to 4GB dual-channel SO-DIMM DDR-II 667/800MHz. Its built-in GMAX4500 graphics engine fully supports Microsoft® DirectX™ 10 to meet image quality and performance requirements for 3D games. Additionally, a total of six USB 2.0 ports eliminate the scalability limitation of miniPCs thereby ensuring top flexibility.
“AOpen introduced the world’s first Wintel miniPC in 2005 and created the miniPC market,” says Tony Yang, AOpen’s senior marketing manager, “Today, we continue to lead the miniPC industry with great products and technologies. Unlike other suppliers that offer only entry-level uSFF and SFF products, AOpen has placed much emphasis on developing advanced uSFF and SFF.”
Yang adds that the MP45 enhances system performance and supports the Intel® Core™ 2 Duo (Penryn) as a reflection of “AOpen focus on creating advanced uSFF products delivering excellent architecture, noiseless cooling, superb acoustics, top speed and power performance along with scalability and unmatched styling.”
Wrapped inside an even more compact design than its predecessor at only 1.36L in volume, the XC Mini MP45 can function in a double role as either a space-saving desktop or an ultra-compact digital home audio/video center. As a Blu-ray multimedia player, it supports HDCP full HD 1080p playback and 5.1-channel surround sound along with 3D gaming graphics through a built-in GMA X4500 graphics engine. Via bundled DVI or HDMI ports, the MP45 can connect to a traditional CRT or an LCD or plasma flatscreen for superb HD quality.
Positioned as a versatile flagship model, the XC Mini MP45 comes with many optional dedicated accessories to meet the demands of a variety of applications. These accessories include: Slim Super-Multi DVD RW drives for storing data, a Blue-ray Slim DVD RW drive for viewing and recording HDTV videos, a TV tuner for viewing both analog and digital TV, 802.11b/g wireless network modules for constructing wireless networks at home, and Bluetooth technology for exchanging information with mobile phones and PDAs. The on-demand availability of these accessories and more demonstrate that AOpen is not just a leading supplier of miniPCs but also a leading facilitator of turnkey solutions for its partners.
Finally, the XC Mini MP45 resonates with a green tech design philosophy in that it is both Energy Star 4.0 and RoHS ready. It can do the same work as a traditional desktop PC but at a fraction of the energy consumption (big cost savings), heat and noise output and size.
